Comments: Amigo Energy is online friendly and sends my monthly bill via email along with weekly energy usage metrics. They also notify me when my plan is about to expire so that I do not get put in a higher rate plan by default. I have been able to handle all payments online and have had no need to contact them for customer service.

Comments: Rates are higher than other electric providers. Also, I called in several months ago to start average billing. Spent 30 minutes on the phone with a lady explaining what I wanted. She assured me that it would start. It never happened. I'll probably be changing providers at the end of my contract which is coming up soon.

Comments: After only 6 weeks I have had zero issues. I like the weekly usage updates and the forecasted monthly bill. At this point I definitely would recommend AMIGO Energy.

Comments: This company has the highest surcharge of any company for not using 1000 kWh. Users are encouraged to conserve, but I have paid more money for using less electric because of that surcharge. If you pay any way other than by check, or possibly auto deduct, there is a $5 charge EVERY TIME. I was offered a free AC tuneup, but when I called about scheduling, was told they didn't service condos or townhomes. They called to reverse that, but I had already paid for a private company to tune my AC by that time.

Comments: They were a little higher than the other companies, but they offered a $100. card at Restaurants.com, after the first paid month, or so they said. I never got it. When I called and asked about it, they said that promotion had already expired. However, it was still listed on here for new customers. Then I kept having problems getting my bill, I asked them about that too and they said that according to their records I was. Then I got three bills in a row after the phone call, but that was too late. It was a good thing I could look it up on the web site or they probably would have hit me with all sorts of charges. Also, their usage didn't match up with mytruecost.com. They were almost twice as high. Needless to say, next week my term is up and I won't be signing up with them again. This is the worse service I have ever had.

Comments: The electricity works. I set up for autopayment via CC and paperless billing on the website. That's it. Nothing else to worry about but to kickback and enjoy the luxury of electricity-laden life. Exactly what I expect from an electric provider.

Comments: Received letter from Amigo advising of 24 month contract was set to expire. Accidentally had another provider switch my policy 4 days before 24 month contract was to expire and was hit with a $180.00 early termination fee. Customer service was not understanding. 4 DAYS!!! And I was a very good customer. Learned my lesson. (Could not change the star rating, sorry)

Comments: 2012 12 month Plan at 8.2 cents kw with 9.95 < 1000kw, their renewal offer for 2013 10.5 cents with 19.95 < 800kw. Good thing I live in Texas and have the power to choose. Amigo is like any other small energy service out there customer service M-F closing at five. If you pay on time will have no problems, so shop around. I had my bills come to email, then I turn around sign in to bank and pay. 4 Stars due to poor customer appreciation.
