Comments: I may have misunderstood the web site, but it appeared that you have to make a payment before you can set up auto payment. So I made an immediate payment before the due date, and set up for auto payment. On the first payment they charged me a $5 manual payment fee. It seems like a catch-22 so they can charge $5. Hence, they lost one star.

Comments: Discount Power offers great rates and their customer service is responsive. One big issue i have is the $5 fee for manual payments (which is not added onto the commercial accounts). Even though I have opted for electronic notifications and pay the bill online & on time every month, I still cannot get them to waive the fee. They explained that in order to have the fee removed I have to go one step further and allow them to automatically draft/debit my account, which would be okay if the amount was constant every month. Since it varies each month, this is not an option for auto-draft from my bill pay checking account.

Comments: This is my 8th power provider in 10 years and probably the easiest to sign up with and not have all of the hidden charges that most providers have. I signed for the 8.5 cents per for 36 months, and that's what I pay, very close to that. I previously signed with a competitor for 7.9 cents for 36 months, and paid closer to 10 cents. A comparable bill between the two providers was about $40 difference a month.

Comments: I have been with Discount Power only a little over a month, so it is a little early to give them an informed review. However, so far seems as if I am getting a better deal with Discount Power than who I was with for the previous 45 years. The only negative is their Website, which is not very intuitive. I recently needed to update my credit card info (new expiration date) so I logged in to My Account. Normally a well designed Website would provide a way to simply update the Expiration Date, but not this one. I had to call their Customer Support Representative who informed me that I would have to completely input the total card info again. I did this but there was no Button such as "Submit" that would indicate that the data was accepted. Plus there was no indication whether or not I needed to reenter other personal data on that page. I wanted to go back a page , but every time I clicked on my Back Arrow it would log me out and I would have to login again. I called the Representative again who informed me I needed to enter only the card data, and then she checked and the change had not occurred. I replied that I had done every thing she had told me to do. I then gave her the card data for her enter manually, but she told me the Security code on the card needed to be a three digit number, not a four digit one. I gave her the correct one and she entered the data, then checked and the change had been made. A better designed Website would have recognized my error and highlighted the Security Code Field data in red letters with a note something like "Bad Security Code entered". Lastly, it would be nice to have a "Submit" Button at the bottom of the page to Click on when I had finished entering the data.

Comments: I have been with Discount Power now for approx 9 months, i didn't have any problems switching over and no problems at all with them since i signed up. just call them at the beginning after you sign up like 15days after and set up your auto payment, don't try to do it yourself, have them do it or you will incur the $5 penalty.

Comments: Switch was fine but I really don't like the way that the payments have been going. It would be GREAT if I could add them to my bill pay from my bank like I did with reliant... I got a disconnect notice long after I paid my bill and actually paid it a second time to make sure. When I called them the system was down and they could not help me the first time.

Comments: Transferring my electric service from Summer Energy to Discount Power was a seamless operation thru True Cost. Discount has an efficient website and their communication to me via e-mails to begin service was clear and concise. The best part was the fact that Discount does not charge a fee if electric usage falls below 1000 kwh monthly.

Comments: Better than all available..... What is better about discount power is that their variable rate is the lowest (in most cases) and do not charge additional monthly plan fixed or per usage.

Comments: Signed up for an 8.4/kw and this bill is for 8.7 +tax. Not enough difference to talk about but it is not a good way to start on a new plan with a new company. It is still much less that the prior electric provider. This is the first time I used TrueCost to change, maybe next time it will be to a lesser amount.

Comments: Seems ok. Have to do direct debit to not get a $5 surcharge. Don't know exactly how I feel about that? Oopst on my first bill, they charged the surcharge and debited the payment. Corrected on this bill. The proof in a carrier is how bad they screw you at renewal time and you forget. So far no regrets, ask me again in 10 months.

Comments: I had some problems with setting up automatic payment and setting up an online account but, after several emails and phone calls, was able to resolve the issue(s). Price is right but customer service and website structure leave something to be derired.

Comments: I've had Discount Power now for about 3 months. I'm paying exactly what I signed up for and I'm happy with them. The sign-up process was easy and straight-forward. Billing has worked and I've been billed correctly and charged correctly to my credit card via the autopay option. I've never had to call them about any issues so I can't say anything about that...and hopefully will never need to call them about any issues.

Comments: The transition was seamless and easy to set up with auto pay. Utilized my phone to capture the image of the sign up form and emailed it straight from the phone. Got confirmation email back from customer service that same day. Appreciate the follow up. Since then, only a little over a month, the first bill has been paid with no issues on either end.
