Comments: So far I am very impressed, bills are clear and there is significant time from receipt to payment due that we can pay by mail and not have to be concerned about the delay in receipt and posting of thepayment like we did withthe last provider.

Comments: They told me the new contract did not go through because I was a current customer. I went in to renew not a new customer and they failed to inform me until I got my first bill at 0.25 cent per kilowatt.

Comments: When my contract was over they charged me 3 times the amount. They said it was more costly to provide electricity out of a contract. I call BS, I work with electricity and Nothing changes because paperwork isn't done. I won't be doing business with them again. My bill went from 230.00 to 685.00,,,, They offered a credit of 100.00 dollars and food coupons that were never received. I don't want coupons that require me to spend More money on over priced food just to get a couple of bucks off.

Comments: Spark energy is a neverending disaster to do business with. I have been with spark for two years (24 month 100% green plan). I've been on automatic bill pay for most of that time. Overall, they have been usable, but it's just astounding what they manage to get wrong. A few examples: 1) My most recent bill, automatic bill pay deducted $3 less than the invoice amount. When I login, I receive a message saying I have an outstanding balance of $3, but under the billing section of their website, they show $0 balance remaining. 2) A few months ago I received an automated phone call telling me my Spark Energy account had been sent to collections for non-payment (this was on auto-pay). I checked my bank statements and invoice history, and all payments had been made. I called Spark, and after spending 20+ minutes on the phone was told that their system had malfunctioned and was sending out erroneous collections calls. 3) Spark's website is incredibly unreliable. I show two invoices for consecutive months for exactly the same dollar amount, but every time I try to view the earlier invoice, I receive a message saying "service is temporarily unavailable." 4) I signed up for my 24 month plan in 2014. My current 'contract end date' on Spark's website is listed as 2017, even though my plan term is 24 months and Spark does not even offer a 36 month plan. I spent 25 minutes convincing a customer service representative that they made an error with the contract end date. She 'put in a service order' to have the end date changed, but 3 weeks and a followup phone call later and the 2017 date is still there. I will say that Spark's incompetence has never actually resulted in my power being shut-off, but given how consistently error prone this company has demonstrated itself to be, I have very little confidence that my billing has been accurate. I just hope I don't incur an ETF for switching to a better company once my 24 months are up.

Comments: This provider is very, very easy to use. Can always get info fast and accurate. The only thing I have against them, is, they charge us more per kwh because we use less elec. If we used more, it would be at a lower rate. I thought a person was to be awarded for not using elec in wasteful manner. We are very conservative and seldom get above 1,000 kwh, usually much lower.

Comments: After my contract expired Spark rate for month-to-month stated to me was at 8.6c / KwH. Thus, I after being customer for 3 years, I relied on their statements, trusting their business. Due to traveling, I took a month and a half before reviewing Plans and planning to renew contract with Spark. Spark, however, switched me to Renewable plan without asking nor notifying me, and rate went to 18.9 c / KwH! My two bills doubled, and they did the switch in June and July when my consumption is the highest, costing me a few hundred $. Spark did not bother to remind me to renew contract or review my rates. Being customer for 3 years, paying my bills by withdrawal from my checking (was never late), did not mean anything to Spark. They were just charging me hoping I will not check rates for few months, so they can rip me off! After I complained, they called me from office of the president, but did not want to adjust charges nor explain how price per kwh doubles when gas prices are at historic low, and no changes to regulations! The explanation is that plan is just 19 c/ kwh! Spark did not care about keeping my business nor considering any resolution to my complaint. I agreed that month-to-month is pricier, but within the reason. But doubling rate with no changes in the market environment! No excuse!! I will never, ever use Spark and will tell all my friends and colleagues about their malpractice. Be warned!
