J.D. Power and Associates’ annual customer satisfaction surveys are a big deal at CenterPoint Energy. Our natural gas companies are measured by them, and we use the results to see whether improvements we make are resulting in happier customers.
JDPA also collects feedback from customers of electric companies as part of their Texas Residential Retail Electric Provider Customer Satisfaction Study(SM). The study, now in its fifth year, measures customer satisfaction with retail electric service providers in Texas by examining four key factors (listed in order of importance): price; billing and payment; communications; and customer service.
We’re excited to report that five out of the top seven companies in customer satisfaction, including the award winner, currently offer plans through TrueCost

Topping the list this year (and the previous two years) is Champion Energy Services
. Bounce Energy
was a close second. They were also the only two electric companies in Texas to earn five “Power Circles” indicating that consumers rate them "among the best" of all companies in the survey.
In third place is StarTex Power, followed by to Amigo
, Ambit and Gexa
Energy. All of these companies earned four “Power Circles” or a “better than most” rating from consumers.
