Electric competition can save you money on your electric bill, but it also comes with a responsibility to keep an eye on the market and on when your contract is up. Even if you want to stay with the same electric company, you need to pick a plan when your old one is up.
I am a huge fan of Amazon. The prices are usually competitive, but the real value for me is being able to find what I want quickly and purchase it; one-click shopping makes a big difference. Amazon already knows my address and payment information.
When we built TrueCost, we wanted to make shopping for electricity that easy, so once you've registered and entered the information to buy your first plan through TrueCost, choosing a plan in the future takes less than a minute. Here's a quick video of how you can choose a new plan in less than a minute.
CenterPoint Intelligent Energy Solutions LLC, IES, which manages TrueCost, is not the same legal entity as CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp. (CERC) or CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC (CEHE), nor is IES regulated by the Railroad Commission of Texas or the Public Utility Commission of Texas. You do not have to buy products or services from IES in order to continue to receive quality regulated services from CERC or CEHE.
